Dr. Conway, or Dr. Dan as many of his patients call him, has worked as a chiropractor for over 17 years. He became interested in chiropractic care after receiving chiropractic treatment in the early 90s.
Dr. Dan grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and was active in a number of sports, including baseball, basketball and tennis, and was as a member of the United States Air Force. His athletic and military pursuits prompted his curiosity and interest in optimizing the body's performance and are a key driver of his current practice, where he enjoys treating endurance athletes, runners, cyclists and swimmers. His goal is to help every level of athlete perform better.
"Dr. Dan is excellent! No matter how much pain I'm in when I arrive, I know when I walk away it's going to be okay."
Dr. Dan does not limit his focus only to athletes, however, Since purchasing the Uptown Natural Care Center in 2004, he has worked with patients suffering from chronic headaches, planter fasciitis, as well as, chronic postural and ergonomic issues. Dr Dan and the Uptown Natural Care Center have also worked with companies to teach workplace safety and injury prevention.
Dr. Dan puts his education and training to use daily. He uses it to find the true cause of issues that prohibit his patients from preforming optimally or from enjoying each day. His approach sets the tone for the Uptown Natural Care Center, ensuring that the clinic has a strong focus on overall wellness, in addition to treating injuries. Dr. Dan wants to be remembered as a chiropractor who provided pain relief and improved functional capacity for thousands of patients.
Dr. Dan's passion for providing the best chiropractic care extends beyond the doors of his own clinic. A member of the Northwestern Health Science University Clinic Based Internship (CBI) program, he routinely invites interns into his clinic to share his knowledge and methodology. Since beginning to practice in 1997, Dr. Dan has trained over 200 interns. Through teaching and training interns and students, he ensures the practices and methods at Uptown Natural Care Center remain up to date and that new innovations in wellness and chiropractic methods are always available to his patients.
Dr. Dan describes the Uptown Natural Care Center as a family-based practice; where he and his staff care for patients of all ages. He enjoys the diversity of his practice and appreciates the trust and confidence his patients have placed in him through the years.
"Dr. Dan has been my chiropractor for over a decade. He knows and cares about me and what's going on in my life. And, not only because of how it might impact my chiropractic care. He genuinely cares about his patients as people. He understands that wellness goes beyond what happens in the treatment room."
Outside of the clinic, Dr Conway enjoys hiking and fishing in the BWCA as well as coaching and playing baseball with his two sons. He recently finished a marathon with a personal record which surpassed his previous best by 25 minutes.
